Motivating Performance in Changing Times
Because of today's accelerating demands,
personnel in today's Juvenile Justice system must
become geared for the increased velocity at which
they are required to change. For people in charge,
creating an environment in which staff remains consistently
motivated to accomplish goals can be difficult to
sustain. The challenge is to understand and facilitate
change while balancing the task fulfillment with
the needs of people. Effective leadership hinges
on the ability to communicate change, set performance
expectations, and coach and communicate effectively
while involving others in creative problem-solving
in order to affect positive change.
Change and Its Effect on You!
Teamwork and collaboration during organizational
change are the cornerstones upon which success is
built. Without teamwork, any organization will struggle
against itself, working harder and harder, all the
while blaming others for defeats. With effective
teamwork and a collaborative effort by all, an organization
can realize its full potential and overcome external
barriers to success. This workshop focuses on the
essential knowledge, skills, and abilities which
Idaho Juvenile Justice personnel need in order to
lead and manage themselves and others through change.
Principles of Human Motivation!
Today's leaders must be able to
"multi-task", juggling priorities, keeping
all the balls in the air, spinning plates. After
all, time is of the essence. Unfortunately, in their
quest for efficiency, many people in leadership
roles create the very conditions they find most
frustrating.
Effective Human Communication
Communication is a popular word. New technology
designed to make communication easier emerges every
day. It is a paradox that never before in history
have humans been able to communicate as rapidly
or through as many channels as today, yet communication
bertween people remains problematic.
Leading & Coaching
for Performance
The ability to accomplish something yourself
is quite different from the ability to get others
to want to do it. This session will focus
on the importance of leadership at all levels, as
well as essential knowledge and strategies that
leaders within the Juvenile Justice system can use
to coach peers and subordinates to higher levels
of performance.
LYNN MACEACHERN
(LSW, LMSW - 1.5)
Understanding the "Box"
and What Keeps You Inside It
Institutions
and organizations of all sizes have embraced the
concept of "thinking outside the box"
in order to encourage creativity and innovation.
Yet, despite devoting significant time, attention
and capital to this effort, the resulting change
is often superficial and does not produce the desired
results. This session will provide hands on techniques
for identifying and managing the competing beliefs
and values that often block the desired change from
taking place within an organization or work team.
MICHAEL
PRITCHARD
(LSW - 1)
T.E.A.M. - Together, Everyone
and Anyone Matters
Michael Pritchard teaches that collaboration
and connectivity are the soul of building community.
"I" is Illness, and "We" is
Wellness. People thrive when all are working together
for the greater good of the entire community. Michael
will incorporate humor and humanitarian observations
in addressing such issues as frustration, anger,
active listening, conflict resolution, fighting
indifference and apathy, bouncing back from burnout
and reclaiming your dedication.
Closing Speaker - The 8 Steps to T.E.A.M.
Dr. Pritchard's "The 8 Steps to T.E.A.M.",
seen by thousands of professional health care, service
industry, business leaders, school administrators
and counselors, provides the inspiration and motivation
to build a cohesive work community. Dr. Pritchard,
seen on PBS, CNN, and the "Today Show"
for his work with youth, now offers these programs
for adults.
